The scientific and practical reviewed journal “Journal Infectology” was established according to the order of the Board of Interregional Public Organization “Association of Infectious Diseases Specialists of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region” dated on 15 September, 2008. The edition was registered by the Federal Service of law compliance in the sphere of mass communication and cultural heritage protection as mass media on 1 November, 2008. Certificate of Registration index is ПИ №ФС77 - 33952.

According to the order of the Higher Attestation Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated on 2 March, 2012 “Journal Infectology” was included in the List of the Russian reviewed scientific journals where the basic scientific results of doctoral/candidate’s thesis should be published.

Over 20 issues of the journal have already been published.
